Announcing the 2016 Tap Dance World Championships
The 2016 World Tap Dance Championships sanctioned and presented by the International Dance Organization (IDO) will take place November 29 through December 3, 2016, at the Sachsen Arena, in the German city of Riesa. New Tap Dancing Production: "Cagney the Musical"
A new tap dancing live stage production entitled "Cagney the Musical" celebrates the life of James Cagney through music, song, and dance. The musical opened on Broadway in May of 2015 and it has been playing at the off-Broadway Westside Theatre in New York City since March of 2016.

Meet 85 Year Old Tap Dancer Arne Mayala
United States Navy veteran Arne Mayala took up tap dancing very late in life. He went to his first tap dancing class at the Dance Tech Studios in Forest Lake Minnesota at age 85!
International Federation for Competitive Tap Dancing
The International Dance Organization (IDO) was established in 1981 to sanction, organize, and govern competitions in tap dancing and other forms of dance not covered by the World Dance and Dance Sport Council, the World Dance Sport Federation, or the World Rock 'n Roll Confederation. Dancing styles represented by the IDO include acrobatic, ballet, bellydancing, bollywood, break dancing, contemporary, electric boogie, flamenco, hip hop, jazz, lyrical, modern, oriental, show dancing, street dancing, tap dancing, techno, and large dance productions.

Introducing Jason Samuels Smith Professional Tap Shoes
In 2010 the Bloch Dance Shoe Company of Australia introduced their SO313 professional quality tap shoe co-developed and endorsed by Emmy winning tap dancer and choreographer Jason Samuels Smith. The shoe is available in both black and white and there are separate models for men and women.

About the International Tap Association
The International Tap Association is an organization established in 1987 to promote the understanding, preservation, and development of tap dancing as an art form. Activities include educating the general public about tap dancing, creating new tap dancing performance venues and touring circuits, preserving the history of tap dancing, and uniting tap dancers and tap dancing enthusiasts.
